Dame Más Dance​

Dame Más (pronounced DAH-may mahs) means “give me more” in Spanish. The goal of Dame Más Dance is to grow and nurture the love and knowledge of Afro-Latin dance in the community of Thunder Bay, Ontario, where we are located, and beyond our borders through virtual classes on Zoom. Currently our group dance classes are focused on women with beginner and intermediate classes in ladies’ styling for kizomba, a beautiful sensual dance from Angola, and for salsa, a popular Latin dance originating from Cuba. Private lessons in kizomba, salsa, and bachata (another popular dance developed in the Dominican Republic) are available on request. For fitness, we offer group classes in Zumba®, Zumba Gold® (low impact) and Strong Nation™ (higher intensity).

Annette Pateman – Local Author

Annette Pateman was born in the UK to Jamaican parents. She grew up listening to Jamaican sayings and folklore. This is reflected in her poetry which centres on identity, race and relationships. Annette now lives in Thunder Bay with her family, where she enjoys giving readings of her poetry, yoga and walking in nature.
Annette published her first collection of poetry ‘Spectrum’ in May 2020.
Her book ‘Spectrum’ can be brought locally from Indigo bookstore, The Bodymind Centre and The Groggy Toad Coffee shop. The book is also available on Amazon. Annette Pateman can be found on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
